The College Access Center is strongly committed to respecting the privacy of our students and staff, and to protecting all personal information provided to us. The intent of this privacy policy is to detail the information the College Access Center may gather about users who visit the Web sites it owns and operates, how that information is used, and the College Access Center's disclosure practices. Please note that this policy applies only to collegeaccesscenter.org, not to the Web sites of other companies or organizations to which we provide links.
Individual User Information
The College Access Center collects personal information from users in order to service our various constituents. We collect detailed personal information from students in order to facilitate the college application process.
We also may collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you visit many of our Web pages, such as the type of browser you are using (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer).
We restrict access to non-public personal information to our employees who need to know that information to provide The College Access Center services. Furthermore, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect nonpublic personal information.
We will continue to adhere to the privacy policy described in this notice even after individuals' interaction with us is over.
Disclosure
The College Access Center reserves the right to access and disclose individually identifiable information to comply with applicable laws and lawful government requests, to operate its systems properly or to protect itself or its users. We reserve the right to share aggregated "site usage" non-personal information with third parties. The College Access Center also reserves the right to share information with College Access Center partners that perform administrative, marketing, research, or other services to help us pursue our mission.
Students who participate in a College Access Center workshop are asked to consent to using their name, likeness, essay, and speech in any audiotape, videotape, film, book, or photograph made at any College Access Center program for any informational, instructional and/or fundraising purposes of The College Access Center. Those students also give the College Access Center permission to submit a copy of their Preview Portfolio, which includes all college application materials including a Common Application, personal essay, transcript, recommendations, evaluations, and their personal contact information to any partner college or university of The College Access Center .
